Harakeke & Birds | A contemporary New Zealand-inspired design featuring harakeke and native birds.

Harakeke & Birds reimagines the natural landscape of New Zealand through a contemporary toile-inspired lens. Inspired by harakeke observed in the Aotearoa landscape, the design brings together stylised birds, botanical forms and layered foliage to create an imagined world of movement and quiet storytelling.

Familiar elements of nature are simplified and arranged into a rhythmic scenic composition, allowing the birds to weave through the harakeke as characters within the landscape. Bold silhouettes and unexpected color create a fresh, contemporary interpretation of traditional toile while retaining its sense of narrative and discovery.
